High quality, individual, creative and unique furniture is designed and made by Nick James to commission and for exhibition. Hand selected sustainable hardwoods and complementary materials allow interesting and inventive pieces of furniture to be made, using both traditional and contemporary techniques, which are both striking and practical.

31.12.2008The end of another year...

It seems it was only a few days ago that 2008 was the next new thing + i had to think about starting a new diary + transfering all of those birthdays again! As 2009 approaches what can i expect it will bring?

I already sense it may be a busy year, with already planned events, like weddings and big birthdays! There is something in the air that makes me think even more may happen, a certain suspense... It may be something to do with the credit crunch and the existing uncertainty that makes these times so charged and exciting. What this will be - we will only know this time next year.

Lets hope things keep going to plan [or close to them]

Happy New Year to you all!

10.11.2008Off to France

In a few weeks i am off to France to take part in a Design Exchange. It's a bit like a french exchange - with designers!

This project is being curated by Charlie Arnold and is a collaborative exhibition project between 4 diverse designers who are members collective+ based in St Etienne and 4 who are members of Designed & Made from Newcastle in England. It is intended that this ‘design exchange’ will eventually be presented as a design showcase exhibition at Design Event, Newcastle 2009 as well as at the Université of Saint-Etienne for the Design Biennial 2010.
